RainBoo Mummy

Hey you guys thanks for coming along the RainBoo Mummy DIY Post. First things first, Yes I know that I already took a picture of a halloween costume for my boys but that really was just my opportunity to have family photo that I never get. My youngest is on the spectrum so I had to at least try to get him in a costume one time in his life while he was little. It took a week and a whole lotta candy to get him in that cotton candy costume but it was oh so fun and worth it.

Okay moving on to the MUMMY. I took left over cheese cloth and used the RiteDye that I had left over from dying the runners from our HOUSE OF FETE RainBoo shoot. I cut it in to sections of about two feet long and kept it the width of the cheese cloth itself. I then used plain solo cups and filled it to the 3 line from the top with hot water. Okay heres the part you need to pay attention to, depending on how saturated you want the rainbow put as little or as much dye as you want. I start with a little and then add based on where the color is and what I want. This is also where you can play with colors, mixing. For example, I didn’t have the green I wanted to I mix blue and yellow and was able to achieve the olive green I wanted. Have fun with it. Leave it in for about 10 minutes, ring, dry, repeat.

Once dried, play with the strips and see how much you need if you need more etc. I tentatively place them on my son to see where each color would land on him. From there I cut the colors that hit his torso into smaller strips about 4 inch in with keeping the length that way I could put it on his arms and legs. After you are done with that you are ready to apply grab some safety pins and start wrapping. I had my son in his undies so that it was not as hot and closer to the skin. The entire process took about an hour with 30 focused on wrapping and getting this kid to take a picture.!!! Lol. Hope you enjoyed it be sure to tag me if you try it! See you tomorrow for another fun little blog. Oh and wear gloves you dont want your hands getting dyed like mine!!!
