Hey guys Im bacckkkkk!  Took long enough!  I want to say that before I begin, these napkins are not my original idea. I was inspired by someone else however I cannot find the blog. So I will do I my best to replicate it.  As always if you have questions reach out to me on instagram!!!! Lets Go!

First things first, this is going to take you a total of 30 minutes and then time for air drying the napkins.  It took 15 minutes for me because where I live its HOTT HOTT HOTT!  So don’t be intimidated by it anyone can do this DIY.  Here is the list of supplies:  5 Gallon Bucket, Disposable Gloves (pick up at your local hardware store)

Wood Stars

You can also pick up extra rubber bands if you want to not have to worry about recycling the ones that come with the indigo dye kit.

Ok once you are ready to go you want to first unwrap the napkins so that they are all open.  Lay as many stars down as you can or want (I found that the more I place the better the stars look) . I placed four across spaced about 2 inches apart and did a total of two rows.  leave about three inch space from the top of the napkins to the start of the first row of stars.

You want to fold over the napkin so that the row of stars is now covered by the extra fabric of the napkin.  If you are confused take a look at the picture.  Repeat for the bottom row.  Now what you want to do is fold it again.  the stars need to be aligned.  thats the hardest part because you want it to be easy to tie up with the rubber bands. Begin folding until you are left with a thick sized wannabe Star. Begin placing the rubber bands so that the peaks of the stars are as noticbiable as possible. Theres no rhyme or reason, just tie as you wish.  Once you are done folding all of your napkins then begin the indigo dye prep.  The package has the directions its quite simple.  Just add water to a 5 gallon bucket (you only add 4 gallons)  stir in agents and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.  When that has sat come back and give it a nice stir and then start placing you napkins in.  I honestly didn’t leave them in for more than a minute.  Take them out and let them dry a bit. After you have let them sit for 30 minutes start unraveling them.  If you see bright green or yellow do not freak out, its the dye that needs to oxidize.  It will turn blue.  I let them dry overnight. Once they are 100% dry, then place them in the wash with gentle soap or just wash them in water don’t add soap.  Dry on low heat and thats it you’re done.  You have new napkins to wow your guests.

Whats cool about this is you can play with it anyway you want.  You can do a unicorn theme or Mickey theme or just anything you want.  play with it and enjoy!
